Delicious Soppressata Recipe

Looking to elevate your meals with bold, savory flavors? This simple soppressata recipe highlights the rich taste of this classic Italian sausage, perfect for any occasion.

Soppressata Recipe Ingredients

  • 1 pre-made flatbread or pizza dough
  • 4 oz thinly sliced dry-aged soppressata
  • 1 cup fresh arugula
  • 1/2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/4 cup ricotta cheese
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tbsp honey
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Optional: Red pepper flakes for extra heat

Instructions

  1. Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 450°F (or follow the instructions on your pizza dough for optimal baking).

  2. Assemble the Flatbread: Place the flatbread or rolled-out pizza dough on a baking sheet. Drizzle a little olive oil on the surface and spread it evenly.

  3. Add the Cheeses and Soppressata: Sprinkle the mozzarella cheese over the flatbread, followed by small dollops of ricotta cheese. Arrange the thinly sliced soppressata evenly on top.

  4. Bake: Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the crust is golden and the cheese is melted and bubbling.

  5. Add Arugula and Honey: Remove the flatbread from the oven, and immediately top it with fresh arugula. Drizzle with honey for a touch of sweetness and sprinkle with salt, pepper, and red pepper flakes (if using) for extra flavor.

  6. Serve: Slice into pieces and serve warm.

The salty, slightly spicy soppressata pairs beautifully with the creamy cheeses and peppery arugula, while the honey adds a perfect hint of sweetness to balance the flavors. Enjoy!
